What I went through to meet my Girlfriend

How far would you go to meet someone? Not just anyone. Someone who’s about to change your life. I’m here to tell you today about what I went through to meet my girlfriend for the first time in my entire life. It was 5 o clock in the morning. 2 o clock in the morning on the West Coast where she lives. I had my backpack on my back, my suitcase in my hand to stroll, and my boarding passes to my final destination of Los Angeles, California. I departed from Wilkes Barre PA to Chicago IL. But before I get on that flight for Chicago, I got this text saying my flight was being delayed. I wasn’t worried at the time. However, when it was time to board the plane, it was delayed again and I feared if missing my train north of LA where she lives. I texted her and said “babe, there may be a possibility I’m going to miss my train.” “I may not be meeting you tomorrow but I love you.” I would have had to take the 7-o clock pacific time train instead of 3 o clock train. I wouldn’t have arrived there until 10:30 pacific time if I missed my train. She understood but at the same time, she was starting to get disappointed with my airline. She messages me saying “You have a girlfriend to see” to the airline. I was too. I got to California at 2:15 Pacific time and guess what, I was going to miss my train. I called her up and said “Babe, I have to call the hotel to tell them to hold the room, catch a new train, I won’t be there until late tonight.” I may not see you but then her mom said, there is a bus that leaves at 3:30 to Santa Barbara that you can catch. I got a ticket and caught the bus in time and now I’m going to arrive at the same time I would have if I didn’t miss my train. I told her kiddingly and not in a mean way of course “after all I been through today, don’t ever dump me.” Was on the bus finally on my way to see her! One of the longest bus rides of my life because of all the travel stress I was through that day. My heart was pounding a little while during the ride because this was the biggest in person date I was going to have in my entire life. I have a history with this woman. I couldn’t blow it this time. I traveled over 3000 miles to take her on a date like I always said I would months before this. I didn’t want this to be for nothing. I didn’t want her to be disappointed either. The 3 bus stops at the destination were coming, I of course had to be getting off at the last one with my luck. Before the last stop, of course there had to be traffic to back me up more. Thank god the bus got off the next exit to avoid it and whispered that to myself. Plus, we had to make a stop for a train to come by. Then I say to myself, “Am I ever going to see my girlfriend?” Finally, the last of the ride was coming and I get a text of what she was going to look like when I see her for the very first time. We came to the stop and there she was! My fellow contributor here, Kelly Douglas! I went through so much to take her on that first date. But she’s my girlfriend now and we’re going strong! Love her!
