Take a Leap of Faith Today

I can testify to the power of taking a leap of faith because I have taken many leaps throughout my life. I try to take daily leaps of faith in all I do, but four years ago, I took the biggest leap of all. I became a writer.

I dove headfirst into the writing world. I had always wanted to be a writer, but I was fearful of the outcome. My brother was the writer in our family, so I worried I’d live in his shadow. I had never actually written anything besides small poems here and there and sappy letters to friends and relatives.

Why would I want to dive into a world of rejection and criticism?

My best friend told me that when I write, I am inspired, which stuck with me. With my first published book, “Dear Anxiety,” which was a series of letters, I got a strong message across without expecting to reach anyone. As they say, the rest is history.

For many people (myself included), taking a leap of faith to make your dreams come true is scary because it’s unknown. If you don’t leap today, you may never get the opportunity. And even though unknown can be scary, it’s exciting, too. Don’t worry about failing. Don’t worry about what others think. Go with your gut, and take a leap of faith today. Jumping into the unknown will lead you to personal growth.

Taking a leap of faith today and every day can be life-changing. It doesn’t matter what season of life you’re in or how old you are. Something will come out of every chance you take, so simply trying is worth your time. You never know what you are capable of and how your life might change for the better if you jump! Taking a leap of faith into writing is the best thing I have ever done.
