Where I Find Gratitude

Where do you find gratitude? Do you find it in counting your blessings every day? Do you find it in look at where you started and comparing it to where you are now? Or are you just a random type of person and try to find it anywhere you can?

Here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter where or how you find gratitude, if you have it as part of your life, that’s honestly all that matters. It can be hard and take a long time for some people to get to a point in their life to be grateful, but eventually, those people will get there. It’s all about baby steps.

In my life experiences, I find gratitude the second way.  I have been through a lot of ups and downs in my life. And it took me forever to get to a healthy stable point. It has not been easy by no means whatsoever. However, with the help of my doctors and medical care team, I got to that healthy point.

When I look back at where I started and compare it to now, I honestly get emotional. Why??? Well, I’m in college now, I graduated high school almost two years ago, and am now a published writer and author. Almost 19 years ago, no one thought I would be any of these things. They prayed that when I grew up, I would do something, anything with my life.

When I was born, I came with no instruction book. My family’s patience, motivation and faith were put to the ultimate test. We all prayer together as a family to god that I would survive the challenges that would come my way, no matter how big or small, difficult or easy it would be.

I proved everyone wrong and became all the above things. Yes, it was a long road and it took me a long time to get to this point where I am now.  But I made it and I’m here and that’s all that really matters.

I find gratitude in knowing I proved everyone wrong and did something positive with my life instead of sitting around after I graduated doing absolutely nothing.

Gratitude and finding it takes time, but I know you all will get there soon. Life can be hard and throw every single bad thing at you when you least expect it. When this happens, stand up and fight! Don’t let it get the best of you and knock you down. Get up and prove everyone wrong and show them who’s boss! Find that gratitude and motivation and build on it! You can do it!

I’d love to know where you find gratitude, let me know!
