How My Strength Has Been My Guide

To me, your strength is the essential foundation of the human body. Your spirit is what keeps you alive, and in your happier times, keeps you afloat.  Many people and emotions in your life have the ability to leave. A person you were in an all-consuming relationship with can leave you when things get bad. In the times of sorrow, your friends can jump in there and try to be thoughtful and there to support you. As a result, and a tremendously nice gesture, they could send you flowers. Here’s the thing, though, even though you were probably taken aback with the kindness surrounding the flowers, they, too, die.  However, your spirit is eternal, and I fully believe that once you die, your soul leaves your body and continue to spread bits of who you were around to the people who are still living and mourn your death. In our living times, though, my strength in particular has saved me time and time again. As a sufferer of anxiety and depression, there are certainly times when the devil has done his best job to pull me back into that dark abyss with no direction or purpose. Fortunately, for me, I am confident enough in my strength to resist the devil and attempt to steer him in the other direction. It doesn’t always work on a consistent basis, but without my strength to guide me, my overcoming of my intense sadness would have not been successful at all. As a consequence, it is very likely that I would have done something to take my life in my earlier years when my depression did not allow any light in my life.

My strength has been my proverbial life preserver, bringing me back from some of the roughest seas & some of the swiftest currents.  Just think of it as defying the swimmer’s rules and jumping in the ocean despite the red warning flags.  It is likely that you’ll get sucked under the water, the saltiest sea water filling up your lungs to the point of choking. However, somehow, you come out of the situation mostly unscathed. Your throat may hurt you a bit, but that’s nothing that can’t be healed with a little patience and time.  You may feel like you have nothing left to give in the darkest times of your life, but the truth is that you’re magnificent. You’re a beautiful soul who has so much to offer the world. You just have to take the time to let your body, mind, and soul process what you’re going through and let your strength guide the way. It will never abandon you or leave, because it is unique to you. It’s your personal blueprint. It’s yours and no one else until the day you die.
You have to be mindful to take good care of your soul and your strength. Like you, it is delicate and fragile, and should be handled with great care. We are no doubt humans experiencing life together, which means there are going to be times when your strength is the only thing you have left to rely on. Don’t beat yourself up too much, because like you, your strength can become quite exhausted. Make sure you get adequate rest so that you can not only recharge your body, but your spirit as well.

Be sure to illuminate and reinforce your whole body’s intentions to the world. Make sure that people know that your intentions are good and that you’re there to make a difference in other’s lives. Not only to make yourself feel good, because it undoubtably will, but to use your undying amount of strength to help others in a way that is positive and memorable.

I don’t tend to talk about this often because I would rather keep it somewhat private. However, I am a very spiritual person. I fully believe that God does not give you anything you can’t handle. He gives us an unlimited amount of strength to match the difficulties of our lives. I am thankful everyday I open my eyes that He blessed me with an abundant amount. It is because of my strength that I remain on Earth. I thank my strength for making me a bad ass woman who has an undying passion for compassion and writing. I can’t even fathom who I would be without it, and I give thanks daily in my nightly prayers. No matter how hard life may come down on you, there is always something to be thankful for.
